Since 1969, ifm has developed, manufactured and marketed sensors and controls to industries that include assembly and robotics, automotive, material handling, packaging, metal forming, mobile equipment, plastics and food and beverage.

In 1985, a USA sales and marketing company was established in Chester County, PA. Since then, ifm USA has experienced tremendous growth with more than 120 employees from the surrounding area, the expansion of ten branch sales offices throughout the US, and the opening of a manufacturing and technology center in Malvern, PA in 2012.

Today, roughly 230 dedicated individuals drive innovation and productivity and successfully service 26,000 customers resulting in $125 Million in annual sales (2015).

USA Technology and Manufacturing – Malvern, PA

ifm prover USA opened in 2012 and includes a product development team, a production facility and multiple labs for testing and quality control. Close to 60 ifm employees work in the facility, and the company plans to increase to 100 employees over the next five years.

This Team currently produces approximately 800,000 temperature sensors, flow sensors and connectors for the global market.

Our goal is to continuously improve ifm products and services. We measure how we’re performing with an annual Loyalty Survey that evaluates customer feedback by indicating a Net Promoter Score (NPS).

The benchmark Net Promoter Score for companies such as USAA, Apple, and Amazon is between 50 and 80. The average Net Promoter Scores for ifm range from 70 to 80.

We strive to determine how our customers view us so that we continually provide the type of service they would like to receive.

The Orange Run, 2015
ifm is committed to the community and participates in philanthropic activities for various charities.

ifm employees organize a 5K run / 2K walk annually in Chesterbrook, PA to bring awareness to cancer and raise funds to support local families fighting cancer. The proceeds from the “Orange Run” are donated to the Breathing Room Foundation and benefit more than 100 families in the community who are affected by cancer (September 2015).
